CURTAIN ROD BRACKET : I've found and signal you a commercial site very rich and detailed on woodapplications, especially machines and plants for preliminary treatment offactory lumber, and dry kilns, impregnation plants, grinders, handlingmachines, moisture meters, for small users and large companies.Kevin if you get a job at that impregnation plant youmost likely get to use the handling machine . :-)Think I'll see if they have any openings at that plant :-)JimKevin Singleton wrote in messages.net...I don't wanna use it there! I wonder if they'll let me bring it home onweekends? I'd like to have it in the backyard, near the pool! Hey, kids, let's go swimming!Hi!I'd like to invite you to our site; The Woodworks of Sven Axel. This is anon.commercial site that shows the woodworks of my father in severalgalleries. And ifyou have any comments, or just want to say hello, please sign our guestbook.Sincerely

Any feathered decorative items will need to be fumigated - such asthose birds you buy in craft depts and stick on birdhouses or wreaths.I have a feeling the sandpaintings were fumigated as well.

CURTAIN ROD BRACKET : Been looking on the web to find a Stanley 68-233 spiral ratchetscrewdriver to buy new. I haven't found a single place that offers themonline - any ideas? Local stores don't seem interested inspecial-ordering them.screwdriver to buy new. I haven't found a single place that offers themonline - any ideas? Local stores don't seem interested inspecial-ordering them.A Yankee screwdriver is just one of those things that are slowly goinginto oblivion, since the electric screwdrivers / guns came to be sucha rave! I bet its been 15 years since I used mine last. Have three ofthem, one of them is made for use around glass etc, and was marketedas such..it simply has the spring removed.I don't know if this is the same model. But Highland Hardware carriesthem. I've had good experiences mail ordering from them.

CURTAIN ROD BRACKET : Thanks for the replies. I finally found a store that would order one for me. Not really local though, 50 miles from me These thingsseem to have gone out of favor, but they do have their uses. I was a member of a church that got a new (to them) Moller pipe organ. Abunch of us helped the experts install the thing, and of course we each brought our cordless drills and all with us. The two guys incharge of the installation had been doing this for more than 30 years each and had the longest Yankee screwdrivers I've ever seen. They'd just climb up on the ladder and drive those screws home in nothing flat. The rest of us just stood around dropping screws, discharging our batteries, and generally getting in the way. A humbling experience.

CURTAIN ROD BRACKET : It is probably worth noting that it was the expert's skills and experience, not the type ofscrewdriver they used, which made the real difference.Yeah, but...in the right circumstance, there's nothing faster. When I was akid my neighbor built sailing prams in his garage, as a sideline. He coulddrive (I'm guessing here) 30 screws per minute through the thin plywood andinto the chines with his Yankee screwdriver.I have two of them, which I still use on occasion (last occasion was todrive window-curtain rod-bracket screws. And I have a drill which works likethe Yankee screwdriver, with special bits, and with the helix enclosed in achrome-plated tube.On Fri, 30 Nov 2001 18:46:09 GMT, "Ed Huntress" wrote:I have a couple of them too, Ed. A Stanley, and a much older one of unknownvintage. They do work well, but IMHO they don't beat an electric screwgun inany meaningful way. (Of course I'll grant you that they work without batteries.)
